Field of Dreams: Not in My Backyard!

FOXNews.com - FOX Fan - Rick's Rambles - Field of Dreams Bill Maier of East Amwell, NJ has been stopped by local government from building a baseball field on his ten acre spot of land. The neighbor's don't like the idea of a baseball field in their neighborhood. This poor guy just wants to have a ball field for his son. Why is that different from my parents installing a pool in our yard so that our friends would want to come to our house to spend time, allowing my parents the opportunity to monitor us? Good grief, the public always rages about parents not being involved in their children's lives and when this guy builds a ball field on his 10 acres of land, it is a problem? I read some blog comments about the availability for municipal parks, but most of us know that those fields are often crowded from morning until late at night with league games. Would this guy's ball field lower his neighbor's property values? No! So, they need to suck it up and be grateful he is planting trees and grooming a diamond and not growing pot next door.
