Who of us is not cringing at the reports we hear daily about the cost of rising energy costs, in particular, heating costs. I have been frantically stripping and refinishing storm doors and preparing to use weather-stripping and plastic to try to keep heating costs at bay this winter. In addition, visitors to my home can expect to dress warmly. My thermostat does not usually rise above 65 in the winter, and more often than not is around 63. This winter, it may be set to an even lower temperature.
I found an article on MSNBC that you might find helpful.

Thanks for the article. With new home owners with gas heat, we are quite apprehensive about this winter. At least we are in the South.
Please move back to Knoxville and you can keep your thermostat on 63 - your heat will never even come on. In fact, you might have to bump it up to 65 to keep you air conditioner off.
You see, the situation is, I enjoy it cold. If I never had guests, I would probably keep it set at 55-58 and just wear sweaters. Besides being cold is a great excuse for making myself a steaming hot Latte.
